Fresno Pacific University Preview Days During the upcoming fall semester, FPU gives students
three chances to
stay overnight in the dorms, attend classes, meet faculty, and Òtest-driveÓ the campus. The
event is open to
juniors and seniors in high school and costs $25. If you attend and decide to apply to FPU,
the $40 application
fee will be waived. The dates for the upcoming Preview Days are October 23-24th, November
11th-12th, and
November 29th-30th. The second date falls on Veterans Day weekend, which will allow
students not to miss
any UHS classes.

Lastly, please plan on spending thirty minutes with Ms. Patterson for your conference. Two performing and visual arts college fairs will be held in California for students interested in pursuing a future in the performing and visual arts. Two performing and visual arts college fairs will be held in California for students interested in pursuing a future in the performing and visual arts. The first fair will be held in San Francisco at the Nob Hill Masonic Center from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, October 27th. The second fair will be held at UCLA from 1:00-3:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 28th.

*** Fresno Pacific University Preview Days
During the upcoming fall semester, FPU gives students three chances to stay overnight in the dorms, attend classes, meet faculty, and Òtest-driveÓ the campus. The event is open to juniors and seniors in high school and costs $25. If you attend and decide to apply to FPU, the $40 application fee will be waived. The dates for the upcoming Preview Days are October 23-24th, November 11th-12th, and November 29th-30th. The second date falls on Veterans Day weekend, which will allow students not to miss any UHS classes.

The dates for the upcoming Preview Days are October 23-24th, November 11th-12th, and November 29th-30th. During the upcoming fall semester, FPU gives students three chances to stay overnight in the dorms, attend classes, meet faculty, and Òtest-driveÓ the campus. The dates for the upcoming Preview Days are October 23-24th, November 11th-12th, and November 29th-30th. "Applying to UC: The Personal Statement" will air several times during the week of October 8.
Helping students craft a strong personal statement requires an understanding of the role it plays in UC admissions and a knowledge of effective writing strategies. In this presentation, Yvette Gullatt reviews in detail the new prompts and provides counselors with tips on thinking like an admissions reader and giving students effective feedback.


"Applying to UC: Freshman Applicants Online," which will air beginning October 15, offers important tips on the latest enhancements to the UC online application, the preferred way for nearly all prospective students to apply to the University. The session also provides information on the new personal statement prompts. The presentation tools are designed so that counselors can use them in their own application workshops.

ASB is sponsoring a field trip to Hollywood to see "Wicked". The date is January 19, 2008. We
will meet in
parking lot D and leave at 8:00 am. We are planning to have lunch, see the matinee, and
return to FSU by 10:00
pm. Make a reservation with Mr. Benslay by bringing in $35 for the ticket before October 15.
We will have a
second deadline for the bus and lunch expense. Total cost of the trip will be about $60. Get

from UHS and

Fresno Pacific University Preview Days During the upcoming fall semester, FPU gives students
three chances to

the $40 application
fee will be waived. The dates for the upcoming Preview Days are October 23-24th, November
11th-12th, and
November 29th-30th. The second date falls on Veterans Day weekend, which will allow

Third Annual Historically Black College Fair The United College Action Network invites
students to attend a
Historically Black College Recruitment Fair at Hoover High School on October 15th from 9:00

Students will be able to receive "on the spot" admission, scholarship, and financial aid
information. As such, it
is imperative that students bring a copy of their transcripts and ACT/SAT scores for each

UCTV will air two workshops on channel 190.

"Applying to UC: The Personal Statement" will air several times during the week of October 8.
Helping students

Destination Imagination We will having our first Destination Imagination meeting on Tuesday,

*** Performing and Visual Arts College Fairs
Two performing and visual arts college fairs will be held in California for students interested in pursuing a future in the performing and visual arts. The first fair will be held in San Francisco at the Nob Hill Masonic Center from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, October 27th. The second fair will be held at UCLA from 1:00-3:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 28th.

*** Wellesley College Fall Open House
Wellesley College will be hosting an overnight program for high school seniors from 10/14 to 10/15. For schedule and registartion information, please viist: www.wellesley.edu/admission/fall2007

*** Fresno Pacific University Preview Days
During the upcoming fall semester, FPU gives students three chances to stay overnight in the dorms, attend classes, meet faculty, and Òtest-driveÓ the campus. The event is open to juniors and seniors in high school and costs $25. If you attend and decide to apply to FPU, the $40 application fee will be waived. The dates for the upcoming Preview Days are October 23-24th, November 11th-12th, and November 29th-30th. The second date falls on Veterans Day weekend, which will allow students not to miss any UHS classes.

*** Bulldog Pride Scholarship Fund
The Bulldog Pride Scholarship Fund at FResno State is accepting applications for a $1000 scholarship to be awarded to a student in the 2008-2009 academic year. The BPF scholarship criteria is that a FResno State student or incoming or returning student with good academic standing that has demonstrated pride in the community be selected as its recipient. School photo day is Friday, Oct. 2. All Sophomores and Juniors should be prepared for their yearbook photo, background packages if youu want them. Freshmen, if you want to get a package, you will have to have them retaken. There are several packages available with various backgrounds. See Mr. Benslay (room 18) or the office for packages and ordering information.

*** Class Ring Orders
Class ring orders will be taken in room 18, at 12:00 on Tuesday, Oct 2. Get an order form and catalog from Mr. Benslay in room 18 to have the order ready for Graduate Services. A $60 deposit is required at the time of ordering. Checks should be made out to "Graduate Services" Seniors ordering rings this year will also get complimentary cap and gown.

Travel Club is selling Cinnamon Rolls! These rolls are baked fresh everyday, sometimes they are still warm for first period. Help send our students to Europe, all proceeds go toward their expenses. They will be in room 18 by 7:45 a.m. and they will be on sale until they are gone each day.

Hey! Want to see Philip Dodd dancing on a busy street in a dog costume? Then come volunteer at the carwash for the Freshmen class on Saturday OCTOBER 27. This will be a great way to have fun with your friends and kick off a great Halloween! Sign-up sheets will be in Mrs. Phannaphob's or Dr. Gettman's room.

*** University of Pennsylvania Information Session
The University of Pennsylvania Office of UNdergraduate Admissions invites you and your parents to attend an information session about Penn. Sessions will be held on Monday, September 24, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. at the Santa Clara Marriott; Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (Union Square) in San Francisco; and Monday, October 8, 2007, at the Rockridge Branch Library in Oakland, CA. All presentations will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Mills will be hostng several "Student Visit Days" for prospective students.
