Fall Semester Grades
Fall semester grades have been typically sent home during the winter break. These grades do
not include the university course grades, so another grade report was mailed after the winter
session that included the Fresno State courses. To reduce mailings and cost only one grade
report will be sent this year after the winter session. The final grade report will not be run in
PowerSchool until Dec. 30th. Grades will be available to view on PowersSchool as current
grades up until that date.
Bell Schedule for the electives
1st period will meet from 8:00 to 11:00
Lunch is from 11:00 to 12:00
2nd period will meet from 12:00 to 3:00
Students are released for the day at 3:00 P.M.

National Honor Band Congratulations to Andrew van der Paart for auditioning and being
accepted into the National Honor Band hosted by Bands of America, an orginzation whose
sole purpose is to support young musicians. Andrew will travel to Indianapolis, Indiana in
early March to rehearse and perform with the honor band and special guest conductor.

Innerspark
The California State Summer School for the Arts (Innerspeark) is seeking the most talented
high-school aged visual, literary, media, and performing artists in California. The teenagers
who are selected through the competitive application process will attend one of the country's
premier summer arts institutes on the campus of California Institute of the Arts in Valencia.
Innerspark offers instruction in the fields of Animation, Music, Dance, Film and Video,
Theatre, Creative Writing, and Visual Arts. The application is due by February 29, 2008 and

Stanford Medical Youth Science Program
The Stanford Medical Youth Science Program is looking for economically disadvantaged and
under-resourced sophomore and junior high school students who are academically oriented,
mature and inquisitive, interested in medicine-and health-related careers, and will likely be

The Stanford Medical Youth Science Program is looking for economically disadvantaged and
under-resourced sophomore and junior high school students who are academically oriented,
mature and inquisitive, interested in medicine-and health-related careers, and will likely be

CONGRATULATIONS to the UHS students who were selected by a competitive state‑wide

Class Rings to be delivered
If you ordered a class ring from graduate Services, they will be delivered next week.
Thursday, Dec. 13, at noon, Graduate Services will be here in room 18 for you to pick up
your rings. Seniors that missed the previous date for ordering Cap and Gowns this will also
be a time for you to get those ordered. He will be until 1 p.m.

Santa Grams
Please help support the Junior class and buy Santa Grams at lunch from December 5 to
December 18. The sales table will be set up by the Choir Room. Send your friends a gram to
let them know you appreciate them.
Soccer/Weight Lifting Class
All students signed up for the Soccer/Weightlifting class need to have the $25 fee to Mr.
Benslay by Monday Dec. 17 12:00 p.m. If it is not paid before break you may be assigned to
a new class.

Wicked Bus Fee due

Destination Imagination Team Registration To register for the Destination Imagination
tournament, Dr. Gettman will need information from each of the teams: 1) Team Name 2)
Challenge your team will be doing 3) Team manager name, phone number and e-mail
address. The team manager is not a team member. 4) The names of the team members, plus
the e-mail address of one of the team members to send information to. I'll need all of the
information as soon as possible. You can give me the information during lunch or after
school in Room 15.
Math Team T-Shirt Orders Attention Math Team: Please order your math team t-shirt by this

Pick up Ski / Snowboard Forms
While Mr. Hagen and I are very excited about the ski / snowboard elective a good deal of
paperwork needs to be completed in advance. Praemonitus, praemunitus!
Students who have not picked up the ski / snowboard forms and met with Mr. Roberts by
Friday, Dec 7, will be dropped from the elective and replaced with students now on the
waiting list.
The forms and payment are due Monday, December 10. After this date, slots reserved for
registered students will be made available to those students now on the waiting list.

Wal Mart Community Scholarship The 2008 Sam Walton COMMUNITY Scholarship is available
through: www.walmartfoundation.org. The deadline for entry is January 14, 2008. The
COMMUNITY scholarship is a non-renewable $1000 award for the first year of
undergraduate study. To qualify, a student must be a graduating high school senior and may
not be a Wal Mart or Sam's Clun associate, or the child oor legal dependent of a Wal Mart or
Sam's Club associate.

to graduating seniors who maintain a cumulative g.p.a. of 2.5 or higher; work part-time an

11th Grade "The Grapes of Wrath" Multi-Media Scholarship Contest Studens may depict any
aspect of "The Grapes of Wrath" using any media they wish - video, live action, sculpture,

second-place prize is a $1500 scholarship; and the third-place prize is a $1000 scholarship.
